Red Cabbage In Red Wine - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head red cabbage (about 2 lb.)
    3 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. brown sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. red table wine
    6 apples, pared and sliced
    1/4 c. vinegar
    1/4 c. white sugar
    pinch of cayenne pepper
Preparation
    Place ingredients in a heavy pot which has a cover.
    Simmer over low heat for about 2 hours.
    The long cooking may be hard on the vitamins, but it is marvelous for the taste.
