Braised Honey Chicken - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 fryer, cut up
3 to 4 Tbsp. salad oil
1 green onion, cut in 1/2-inch pieces
1 piece fresh ginger root
fresh pineapple chunks and thinly sliced green onions (for garnish)
1/2 c. orange juice
2 Tbsp. honey
2 Tbsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. salt
Preparation

Wash chicken and pat dry.
Heat oil in wok or heavy skillet. Add chicken, onion and ginger root.
Over medium heat, brown slowly for 10 minutes, turning several times.
Drain excess oil. Mix orange juice, honey, soy sauce and salt.
Pour over chicken in pan.
Cover and simmer for 30 minutes or until chicken is done. Remove chicken onto a warm serving platter.
Boil juices down about 2 minutes to make thick glaze.
Spoon over chicken.
Garnish with pineapple chunks and green onion slices.
Serve immediately. Good served with steamed rice, spinach salad with sesame dressing with fruit or custard for dessert.
