1-2-3-4 Basic Layer Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    3 c. flour
    1 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. each: lemon and vanilla flavorings
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    3 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Cream the butter, sugar and egg yolks.
    Sift baking powder with flour; add flour mixture alternately with liquid to the butter and sugar mixture.
    Add flavoring.
    Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Bake in three 9-inch layer pans at 350\u00b0 for about 25 minutes, or until done.
