Scalloped Potatoes - cooking recipe

6 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced
3 Tbsp. margarine
1 small onion, chopped
3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 1/2 c. milk
1 Tbsp. margarine
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Grease 2-quart casserole dish.
Heat 3 tablespoons margarine in saucepan over medium heat.
Cook onion in margarine, stirring occasionally.
Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Cook, stirring constantly, until smooth and bubbly.
Remove from heat.
Stir in milk and heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir for 1 minute.
Spread potatoes in the casserole dish.
Pour sauce over top.
Dot with 1 tablespoon margarine. Cover and bake for 30 minutes.
Uncover and bake 60 to 70 minutes longer, until potatoes are tender.
Let stand 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
