Smoked Turkey With Black-Eyed Peas - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 (16 oz.) cans black-eyed peas
1 (14 1/2 oz.) can stewed tomatoes, cut
2 tsp. seasoned salt (Lawry's)
1 1/2 tsp. basil
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 medium onion, sliced
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
2 lb. smoked turkey
1/2 tsp. thyme
rice
Preparation

Combine all ingredients except turkey and rice in a 6-quart stockpot.
Add smoked turkey.
Bring to boil.
Cover, reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes.
Uncover and simmer another 30 minutes. Remove turkey and slice meat from bones. Stir turkey meat back into pea mixture.
Serve over rice.
Serves 6.
