Seafood And Sausage Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. hot Italian sausage links
    1 medium size onion, chopped
    1 lb. small red potatoes, each cut into halves or quarters
    1 bay leaf
    1 lb. large shrimp
    1 doz. small cherrystone clams or large littleneck clams
    4 mini ears frozen corn, thawed and each cut in half
Preparation
    About 1 hour before serving, in 12-inch skillet, over medium heat, heat sausages and 1/4 cup water to boiling.
    Cover and simmer 5 minutes. Remove cover. Cook, turning sausages frequently, until water evaporates and sausages are browned, about 20 minutes. Remove sausages to paper towels to drain. Cut each sausage diagonally in half.
    Spoon off all but 1 tablespoon drippings from skillet.
    In remaining drippings over medium heat, cook onion until tender.
    Add 1 cup water.
    Over high heat, heat to boiling. Add potatoes and bay leaf.
    Heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
