Stuffed Apple Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 large cooking apples, peeled
    2 c. water
    1 c. red cinnamon candies
    1 c. raisins or currants
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    1/3 c. chopped, toasted pecans
    1/3 c. mayo or salad dressing
    lettuce leaves
Preparation
    Cut apples in half crosswise; core each with a sharp knife or melon baller, leaving a 1-inch hole in center.
    Set aside.
