Carrot Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/3 c. sugar
    1 1/3 c. water
    1 c. raisins
    5 tbsp. shortening
    2 large carrots, grated
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ground cloves
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 c. chopped nuts
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Mix first 8 ingredients in saucepan; cook slowly for 5 minutes.
    After it begins to boil remove from heat and let cool. Add remaining ingredients and a pinch of salt.
    Bake in a greased, floured 9x13 inch pan at 325\u00b0 for 45-60 minutes.
