Apple-Nut Torte - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    4 eggs, well beaten
    2/3 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. apples, peeled and chopped
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Add sugar to well beaten eggs;
    beat with electric mixer until thick
    and
    light,
    about 5
    minutes at high speed.
    Sift together flour,
    baking powder and salt; fold into egg mixture. Lightly mix in
    apples
    and
    pecans.
    Grease
    bottom of a 13 x 9-inch pan. Pour
    in
    batter
    and bake in moderate oven (350\u00b0) for 40
    to
    45 minutes.
    Cool.
    Cut
    in squares and serve with whipped cream.
