Favorite Squash Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. squash, sliced
    dash of salt
    dash of black pepper
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 onion, chopped
    1 carrot, grated
    1 stick butter
    2 c. grated Cheddar cheese
    1/2 pt. sour cream
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. stuffing mix
    1 can cream of mushroom soup
Preparation
    Cook squash with salt, pepper and sugar in water in saucepan until tender; drain.
    Saute onion and carrot in butter in skillet. Add to squash 1 cup cheese and remaining ingredients, mixing well. Pour into greased 2-quart casserole.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes. Top with remaining cheese and bake until cheese melts.
