Black Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. water
    1 lb. dried black beans, rinsed and drained
    1 envelope Lipton onion soup mix
    1 small ham hock or bone
    2 stalks celery, chopped
    2 cloves garlic, chopped
    1 tsp. lemon juice
    1 whole clove
    1 bay leaf
    few sprigs parsley
    3 Tbsp. cooking sherry
    1 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    In a large saucepan or stock pot, bring 2 quarts of water to a boil; add beans and boil for 2 minutes.
    Remove from heat, then let stand, covered, for 1 hour.
    Drain.
