Quick Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 stick oleo
    1 c. milk
    1 qt. fresh or canned fruit
Preparation
    Sift all dry ingredients together.
    Add milk and beat to make a smooth batter like the consistency of pancake batter.
    Melt oleo in a dish or pan and add fruit.
    Pour batter over fruit and bake 20 to 25 minutes in a 400\u00b0 to 425\u00b0 oven.
    Serve hot or cold, plain or without whipped cream or ice cream.
