Pecan Brittle - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. corn syrup
1/2 c. water
1 c. pecans
1 tsp. butter
1 tsp. soda
Preparation

In heavy saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup and water.
Cook until it spins a thread (very hard ball stage).
Add pecans and cook until it caramelizes (turns tan).
Remove from heat and add butter.
Stir until it is blended and add soda.
When it foams up, pour onto buttered 9 x 13-inch pan or cookie sheet.
Cool and break into pieces.
