Pretzels - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 pkg. dry yeast
1 tsp. salt
3 1/2 to 4 c. flour
coarse salt
1 1/2 c. warm water (105~ to 115~)
1 tsp. sugar
1 egg, beaten
Preparation

Dissolve yeast in warm water in a large bowl.
Stir in one teaspoon salt, sugar and 2 cups of the flour.
Beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to make dough easy to handle.
Turn dough onto lightly floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes.
Place in greased bowl; turn greased side up.
Cover and let rise until double, 45 to 60 minutes. (Dough is ready when indentation remains when touched.)
