Skillet Maple Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. margarine
    1/3 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 c. half and half
    1/4 c. pure maple syrup
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 medium tart apples, cut in half and cored
Preparation
    In 10-inch skillet melt butter.
    Stir in sugar and cornstarch. Stir in remaining ingredients except apples.
    Cover over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened (6 to 8 minutes). Place apples, cut side down, in cream mix.
    Cover and continue cooking, spooning sauce over apples occasionally, until apples are fork-tender.
    Remove apples to individual dishes.
    With wire whisk, whisk sauce until smooth.
    Serve over apple halves.
