Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    1/4 c. diced celery
    1 1/2 c. green onions
    1 1/2 c. green peppers
    2 pkg. (10 oz.) frozen peas, uncooked
    1 pt. Hellmann's real mayo
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    8 oz. Cheddar cheese (sharp)
    bacon, crumbled to cover
Preparation
    Break lettuce into pieces and layer with rest of ingredients in the order listed.
    Place in refrigerator to mellow overnight (covered).
    Toss when ready to serve.
