Divinity - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. Karo syrup
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Beat egg whites until a soft peak forms and set aside.
    Boil sugar, water and syrup until mixture forms a firm ball when a small amount is dropped in a cup of water.
    Pour thin stream into the egg white mixture, beating constantly until it loses the gloss.
    Add nuts.
    Spoon onto wax paper or foil.
    Top each piece with a pecan half.
