New Orleans Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. light brown sugar
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. evaporated milk
    1/2 stick butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 to 2 c. whole pecan halves
Preparation
    Cook together sugars and milk, stirring constantly, until it reaches soft ball stage on candy thermometer.
    Remove from heat. Add butter and vanilla.
    Stir until butter is melted.
    Add pecans and beat.
    Drop onto waxed paper by spoonfuls.
    Cool until firm.
