Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

3/4 c. cornmeal
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. water

Preparation

Sift meal, baking powder and salt together.
Mix water and milk and stir into dry ingredients.
Let stand for 5 to 10 minutes, then drop by teaspoons into deep Crisco heated to 365\u00b0 or until bread crumb browns.
Fry until brown (3 to 5 minutes).
