Ingredients

8 slices French bread
butter
1 egg
1/2 c. sugar
pinch of salt
coconut
Preparation

Spread butter on 1 side of each slice of bread.
Beat together egg and sugar; add salt.
Beat until a smooth paste; add enough coconut to the paste to make a spread.
Spread coconut mixture on buttered side of bread, all the way to the edges.
Place on cookie sheet and bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
