Chess Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 unbaked (9-inch) pie shell
    1/4 c. (1/2 stick) butter
    1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    3 eggs
    1/2 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped walnuts
    1 c. chopped dates
    sweetened whipped cream, if desired
    walnuts halves, if desired
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Cream butter in large mixing bowl; gradually add sugars and beat until light and fluffy.
    Beat in eggs, one at a time.
    Stir in milk, flour, vanilla and salt.
    Stir in walnuts and dates.
    Pour into pie shell.
    Bake 50 to 55 minutes, or until center is set.
    Cool on wire rack.
    Garnish with whipped cream and walnut halves.
