Reduced Calorie Strawberry Angel Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. frozen unsweetened or fresh strawberries
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 c. water
    1 packet unflavored gelatin
    1 egg, separated
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    artificial sweetener equal to 14 tsp. sugar
    1/4 c. instant skim milk powder
    1/2 tsp. almond extract
    1/4 c. ice water
    1 (9-inch) graham cracker crust
Preparation
    Pour water over berries, let stand at room temperature for 1 hour.
    Drain water from berries, into pan, reserving berries. Sprinkle gelatin over 2 tablespoons liquid drained from berries. Whisk cornstarch and egg yolk into remaining water.
    Cook over medium heat until mix boils and thickens.
    Remove from heat.
    Add softened gelatin, sweetener and extracts stirring until gelatin and sweetener dissolve.
    Stir in berries; chill 1/2 hour or until mix is partially set.
    Beat egg whites, skim milk powder, ice water in chilled bowl.
    Fold into berry mix.
    Spoon into crust; chill until set.
    Makes 6 servings, 156 calories each.
