Sourdough Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. Starter
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. soft shortening
    1/2 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 to 4 c. flour
Preparation
    Put the Starter in a large mixing bowl.
    Scald milk and add sugar, shortening and salt.
    When cool, add to the starter.
    Place dough in a greased bowl.
    Brush top lightly with melted shortening. Cover with a cloth and let rise until double in bulk, about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
    Punch down; let rise until double.
    Roll into a ball.
    Let rest 10 minutes.
    Shape into a loaf and place in loaf pan.
    Let rise to double in bulk.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 until brown.
