Baked Alaska, Tropicale - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 brick size slices tutti-frutti ice cream
    4 slices sponge cake, about 1-inch thick and 1/2 to 3/4-inch larger on all sides than the ice cream
    6 Tbsp. sugar
    5 egg whites
    1 Tbsp. finely chopped cashews or Macadamia nuts (optional)
    1 Tbsp. grated coconut (optional)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to at least 450\u00b0, 500\u00b0 if the heating unit will do it.
