Mrs. Walker'S Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter flavor Crisco
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. soda, dissolved in 1/2 c. buttermilk
    2 tsp. vanilla or lemon extract
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs (large)
    5 c. flour
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs one at a time and beat after each egg.
    Add buttermilk and soda.
    Sift other dry ingredients, except soda.
    Work enough flour in gradually to make a stiff dough.
    Roll out on floured surface.
    Cut out with biscuit cutter.
    Bake on greased cookie sheet at 400\u00b0 for 8 minutes.
