Harvest Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. Granny Smith apples (5 large)
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. flour (plain)
    1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. lemon juice
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    2 eggs
    2/3 c. Crisco or Wesson oil
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped nuts (walnuts preferred)
Preparation
    Sprinkle lemon juice over chopped apples.
    Pour sugar over the chopped apples and stir well.
    Let stand for 30 minutes, then, sift all dry ingredients (mixed beforehand) together and add to apple mixture.
