Macaroon Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 egg whites
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. graham cracker crumbs
    1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate bits
    1/2 c. flaked coconut
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
    1 tsp. vanilla
    9 graham crackers
Preparation
    Beat egg whites and salt until foamy.
    Gradually add sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
    Fold in the crumbs, chocolate bits, coconut, pecans and vanilla.
    Line bottom of an 8-inch square pan with whole graham crackers.
    Spread with meringue mixture.
    Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 30 minutes.
    Cool.
    Cut in squares (or serve slightly warm with vanilla ice cream).
