Lemon Meringue Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sugar
dash of salt
3 beaten egg yolks
1 tsp. grated lemon peel
3 egg whites
6 Tbsp. sugar
7 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 1/2 c. water
2 Tbsp. butter
1/2 c. lemon juice
1 tsp. lemon juice
Preparation

Combine sugar, cornstarch and salt in pan.
Stir in water. Bring to a boil and cook.
Stir constantly until thick (3 to 5 minutes).
Remove from heat.
Stir in small amount of hot mixture into egg yolks, then return egg mixture into pan.
Bring to boil and cook 1 minute.
Stir constantly.
Remove from heat.
Add lemon peel and butter.
Slowly stir in lemon juice.
Cool to lukewarm. Pour into baked pie shell.
