Flora Raper'S Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 chicken
    2 c. flour, sifted
    1 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. shortening
    5 to 7 Tbsp. cold water
Preparation
    Cook chicken in boiling water until done.
    Remove from broth. Cool and remove chicken from bones.
    Mix all other ingredients together.
    Divide into 3 balls.
    Roll out with rolling pin and cut into 2 x 2-inch squares.
    Bring broth to a boil.
    Drop in squares one at a time.
    Add chicken and cook 15 to 20 minutes.
