John'S Apple Cake(From John Kram'S Bakery Back In 1930) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. peeled, sliced tart green apples (such as Granny Smith, about 1 3/4 lb.)
    2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. corn oil
    4 large eggs
    3 c. unbleached all-purpose flour
    1 Tbsp. double-acting baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    In a bowl, combine well the apples and 1/4 cup of the sugar. Add the cinnamon.
    In a large bowl with an electric mixer, combine the oil and the 1 3/4 cups of sugar and beat for 2 minutes.
    Add eggs.
    In a bowl, sift the flour, baking powder and salt.
    Add the flour mixture to the oil and add orange juice and beat in the vanilla.
    Pour 1/3 of the batter into a buttered and floured 10-inch tube pan.
    Arrange 1/2 the apple mixture over it.
    Pour half the remaining apple mixture.
    Bake the cake on 350\u00b0 for 50 minutes to an hour.
    Let the cake cool for 10 minutes.
