Jam-Filled Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1/4 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. salt
strawberry preserves or one of your choice

Preparation

Cream together first 3 ingredients.
Add next 3 ingredients and mix until smooth.
Stir together dry ingredients.
Add to cream mixture. Blend well. Cover and chill.
