German Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. boiling water
    1 (4 oz.) bar sweet cooking chocolate
    1 c. butter or margarine, softened
    2 c. sugar
    4 egg yolks
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. cake flour or regular flour plus 2 Tbsp. sifted
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    4 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease three round layer pans, 8 or 9-inches.
    Line with wax paper.
