Pumpkin Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 2/3 c. sugar
4 eggs
2/3 c. orange juice
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. walnuts, chopped
2/3 c. butter or shortening
1 (1 lb.) can pumpkin
3 1/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. allspice
1 c. chopped dates or raisins
grated orange peel (optional)
Preparation

In a bowl, cream together the sugar, butter or shortening and eggs. Add pumpkin and juice. In another bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt, allspice and cinnamon together. Add to first mixture.
Mix until blended.
Add nuts and dates.
Place in two greased loaf pans. Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until bread springs back at touch.
Makes 2 loaves.
