Pecan Pie - cooking recipe

pastry for 1 (9-inch) crust pie
3 Tbsp. butter or oleo
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. sugar
3 eggs, well beaten
2 oz. chopped pecans
1 c. dark corn syrup
1/8 tsp. salt
2 oz. pecan halves
Preparation

Prepare pastry and line pie pan; set aside.
Cream butter with vanilla, then add sugar gradually; mix well.
Then add eggs in thirds, blending well after each addition.
Thoroughly blend in chopped pecans along with syrup and salt. Turn into pie shell. Bake at 450\u00b0 for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 350\u00b0.
Arrange pecan halves over top of filling.
Continue baking 30 to 35 minutes.
Cool on rack.
