Overnight Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 head shredded lettuce
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1/2 c. grated carrot
    2 diced tomatoes
    1 (12 oz.) pkg. frozen peas
    2 c. mayonnaise
    2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    10 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
    2 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Layer all fresh ingredients in a bowl (I use a trifle bowl) in a pleasing color arrangement.
    Place frozen peas on top.
    Spread mayonnaise over peas.
    Sprinkle with the sugar.
    Cover with Saran Wrap.
    Chill overnight.
    Before serving, cover with a layer of shredded cheese and sprinkle with bacon bits.
