Crumb Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. flour
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. Brer Rabbit baking molasses
    2 c. hot tap water
    2 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Mix flour, sugar and shortening together like pie crumbs.
    Save 1 cup and set aside for top of cake.
    Add molasses and mix well. Stir the baking soda into the hot water.
    Pour over mixture and mix well.
    Divided into 2 layer cake pans or one 9 x 13 baking dish. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes.
