Frigidaire Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 egg yolks (save whites)
    1/4 lb. butter or oleo
    1 c. sugar
    1 pkg. lemon jello
    1/3 c. hot water
    1 small can crushed pineapple, drained
    1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
    3 egg whites, beaten stiff
    vanilla wafers
Preparation
    Cream together first 3 ingredients for 15 minutes.
    Dissolve jello in hot water.
    Add to sugar mixture.
    Add drained pineapple to mixture.
    Add nuts.
    Beat egg whites stiff and fold in.
    Roll vanilla wafers to crumbs.
    Cover bottom of dish with 1/2 crumbs. Pour mixture over crumbs and spread remaining crumbs over top.
    Let stand overnight.
    Serve with or without whipped cream.
