Divinity Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 2/3 c. sugar
    2/3 c. light Karo syrup
    1/2 c. water
    2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2/3 c. broken nuts
Preparation
    Mix sugar, corn syrup and water in saucepan. Stir over low heat until sugar is dissolved, then cook, without stirring, to 250\u00b0.
    Remove from heat and pour, beating constantly, in a fine stream, into the beaten egg whites. Add vanilla and continue beating until mixture holds its shape and becomes slightly dull. Fold in nuts. Spread quickly onto waxed paper or a buttered pan. Cut into squares when firm.
    Makes 48 pieces.
