Margaret'S Molasses Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 c. light molasses
    1 egg
    2 tsp. baking soda
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Melt shortening in a saucepan over low heat; let cool.
    In large bowl combine shortening, sugar, molasses and egg; beat well. Sift together flour, soda, salt, cloves, ginger and cinnamon; add to first mixture.
    Chill.
    Roll in one-inch balls; roll in sugar and place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
