Fanny Farmer Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 1/2 c. sugar
    1 large can evaporated milk
    3 sticks butter
    3 (6 oz.) bags semi-sweet chocolate chips
    3 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. English walnuts
Preparation
    In a large heavy saucepan, mix sugar and milk.
    Bring to a rolling boil, stirring constantly.
    Boil for 6 minutes.
    Remove from heat.
    Add butter and chocolate chips. Stir.
    (I use electric mixer.)
    Just when you think you've stirred enough, you haven't so keep stirring until all the butter gets blended in and loses its gloss.
    Stir in vanilla and nuts.
    Pour in a 13 x 9-inch pan. Store in refrigerator until firm.
