Mixed Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. green tomatoes
    1 qt. sweet pepper (green and red)
    1 qt. onion
    1/2 stalk celery
    salt to taste
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Grind first 3
    ingredients and let set overnight in its own juices.
    Next day, drain and put pulp in pan;
    add chopped celery. Add vinegar
    to cover pulp.
    Use same amount of sugar as vinegar. Cook
    until
    tender
    and thickened slightly.
    Add teaspoon turmeric
    before cooking for color.
    All measurements are after ground up.
