Date Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. dates
    1 c. hot water
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. sugar
    1 1/4 c. flour
    1 container Cool Whip
    3 bananas
Preparation
    Pour hot water over dates and soda; let stand until partly cool, then add sugar and flour.
    Bake slowly at 325\u00b0 in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Cool, then cut into small squares.
    Layer cake, Cool Whip and bananas in a glass bowl.
