String Beans With Cheese - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. light cream or evaporated milk
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 c. grated process cheese
    1 (No. 2) can string beans, drained
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    3 hard-cooked eggs, diced (2/3 c. chopped ham may be used instead of eggs)
    bread crumbs (to cover casserole)
Preparation
    Drain liquid from beans.
    Reduce by boiling to 1/4 cup.
    Cook eggs until done in simmering (not boiling) water.
    Peel and slice in buttered casserole dish. Add beans, butter, cream and seasoning to liquid and bring to a boil.
    Add cheese.
    Pour over sliced eggs. Cover with bread crumbs. Place in hot oven until crumbs are browned.
