Pesto - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. fresh basil leaves
    1/2 c. olive oil
    1/2 c. pinenuts or walnuts, chopped
    1/2 c. Romano or Parmesan cheese
    2 large garlic cloves
Preparation
    Whirl the basil, garlic, nuts and cheese in blender or food processor until mixed well.
    Then add olive oil in slow steady stream until a smooth paste is formed.
    Use in pasta, as a sauce for pizza or on a slice of bread with lettuce and tomato.
    May be refrigerated up to a month.
    Pour a thick layer of olive oil on top to keep from discoloring.
