Refrigerator Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large onion
    cucumbers, enough for a 1 gal. jar
    1 1/3 tsp. mustard seed
    1 1/3 tsp. celery seed
    1 1/3 tsp. turmeric
    4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. salt
    4 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Slice large onion in bottom of gallon jar.
    Mix the other ingredients and fill jar with sliced cucumbers.
    Keeps 5 to 6 months in the refrigerator.
    Do not seal.
    Shake everyday for 4 days.
