Mrs. Salm'S Sausage Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. fresh pork sausage (without sage or high seasoning)
    3 c. brown sugar
    1 c. raisins
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. cold strong coffee
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    3 c. flour, sifted
Preparation
    Mix sausage and sugar well.
    Add soda to coffee, then to sausage and sugar.
    Add raisins, nuts and salt, then the flour. Bake in layer pans in moderate oven (325\u00b0 to 350\u00b0) until cake shrinks from side of pan.
    Ice with brown sugar icing.
