Ma Ballard'S Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. sliced cucumbers
    6 medium onions, diced
    3 bell peppers (including some cut up red pepper)
    1/3 c. salt (plain, not iodized)
    3 c. cider vinegar
    4 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Cover cucumbers with ice; let stand for 3 hours, then drain. In a large kettle, put 3 cups of cider vinegar, 4 cups sugar, the turmeric, celery seed and mustard seed.
    Bring to a boil, then add the cucumbers.
    Bring to a good boil and can.
