French Bread Puff - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 loaf (1 lb.) French bread (not sliced)
    1/2 c. margarine (soft)
    2 Tbsp. finely chopped onions or chives
    1/4 tsp. garlic powder
    2 eggs, separated
    1/2 c. shredded cheese (Mozzarella, Velveeta or American)
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Cut
    bread\tat 1-inch intervals but not in slices.
    Mix margarine, garlic powder and onion.
    Spoon mixture between slices and\tspread\tevenly.
    Wrap loaf in foil and place on ungreased
    baking
    sheet.
    Heat\tfor
    15 minutes. While bread is heating,
    beat
    egg
    whites until stiff.
    Separately beat egg yolks until
    thick.
    Fold egg yolks and cheese into egg whites. When loaf is ready, fold back foil to make a skirt.
    Spoon egg mixture
    over
    loaf.
    Bake\tuntil topping is golden brown (about 4 minutes).
