Zalabee(Fried Dough) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. flour
    1/2 yeast cake
    lukewarm water
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. oil
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast cake in a small amount of water.
    Add sugar and set aside until bubbly.
    Mix flour and salt.
    Add dissolved yeast cake and oil.
    Use enough water to leave mixture soft and stringy. Set until dough rises (approximately 1 hour).
    Take pinches or strips of dough and fry in hot oil until golden brown.
    These may be eaten plain or sprinkled with powdered sugar or dipped in cool syrup.
