1900 Grandma'S Mincemeat - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. roasted beef (no hamburger)
    6 lb. apples
    1 lb. raisins
    1 lb. currants
    1/2 lb. suet
    1 tsp. ground cloves
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 qt. any fruit juice (no orange juice)
    1/2 citrin
Preparation
    Grind first 5 ingredients together.
    Add salt to taste.
    Then add remaining ingredients.\tSimmer until apples and raisins are done.
    Use for pie or cookies.
    May be canned or frozen.
